WILD WONDER—from Wild Places to Inner Spaces
Feathered Pipe Ranch ● Helena, Montana ● Oct 21–27, 2027
An Invitation: WILD WONDER–From wild places to inner spaces ~
For women in a season of transition, expansion, or longing to slow down.
Wander beyond the expected and immerse yourself in awe, new experiences, curiosity, creativity, and inward listening.
Through yoga and movement, contemplation, nature, and journal art, WILD WONDER invites you to explore, play, and express yourself—
without needing to get it “right.”
Listen with all your senses. Venture beyond the familiar. Trust your own voice. Make space for what wants to emerge.
What makes WILD WONDER unique
What makes WILD WONDER unique is not simply the combination of yoga and movement, nature, contemplation, and art, but the way these practices are interconnected—and the long relationship between facilitators Linda and Kate from which the retreat has grown.
Linda and Kate have been practicing and exploring together for 25 years, beginning in Pittsburgh and continuing through retreats in Mexico, New Mexico, and beyond. Linda’s teaching has been a meaningful thread throughout Kate’s life, helping her reconnect with and ultimately reclaim herself as an artist.
Their shared journey reflects the heart of WILD WONDER: the power of movement, contemplation, creativity, curiosity, nature, and trusted community to help us reconnect with ourselves, with one another, and with the awe of the natural world.
Rather than treating yoga and art as separate practices, WILD WONDER invites us to experience movement, nature, contemplation, and art as different pathways into the same questions:
What happens when judgment quiets?
What happens when we listen with all our senses?
What happens when we let go of getting it “right”?
What happens when we venture beyond the familiar and trust our inner knowing?
WILD WONDER Offerings
Kate and Linda meet to curate a retreat experience that naturally emerged over years of learning, teaching, traveling, questioning and ultimately desiring more freedom, joy and personal truth.
Linda brings her expertise of curating movement and contemplative experiences. She empowers retreaters to ground and regulate the nervous system, while also moving beyond self imposed limitations so one may dare to expand into a bigger concept of SELF. Linda challenges us to move beyond what is familiar and open our hearts to more compassionate, bold and life-affirming choices.
Kate introduces us to her work of Journal Art, in which your journal becomes a place to gather what is being noticed—in nature, the body, the heart, movement, contemplation, and the collective—and give it form through color, marks, words, collage, and play.
The Journal Art emphasis is on the experience of creating rather than the final product. A blank page becomes a place to experiment, follow an impulse, change direction, begin again—or simply ask, “What happens if…?”
Here’s our offerings:
Contemplation Guide with Daily Themes
Sunrise Reflections
Wisdom Flow — morning practice
Whole Body Therapeutics — afternoon practice
Journal Art Sessions — guided and self-directed
Hikes — right from the ranch
What you may experience, discover, or carry home
Yoga and movement awaken sensation and awareness.
Nature awakens wonder.
Art gives our experience form.
The journal is where the outer and inner worlds meet.
WILD WONDER is less about teaching us what to discover and more about creating the conditions for discovery to happen.
At the heart of this is a simple but powerful idea: wonder can be a pathway to fearlessness.
Instead of “What if I get it wrong?” the question becomes, “I wonder what happens if…?”
Wonder interrupts judgment.
Wonder makes room for experimentation.
Wonder allows uncertainty.
Wonder opens possibility.
WILD WONDER invites us to cultivate
Greater Awareness — noticing what’s happening within and around us.
Embodied Resilience — listening to and trusting our bodies and our SELF
Creative freedom — letting go of “getting it right.”
Inner trust — listening to our own knowing and following what emerges
Connection — finding reflection, encouragement, and belonging.
A practice to carry home — your art journal, art supplies, and 5 Ways to Use Your Art Journal at Home.

TRAVEL PLANNING
CLOSEST AIRPORTS:

Malaga [AGP] — 2 hours by car
Jerez de la Frontera [XRY]: 50-60 minutes by car
MAJOR AIRPORT TO CONSIDER — MADRID (MAD):
Flights may be cheaper.
Itineraries from U.S. may be better.
Take a train from Madrid to Seville (~2.5 hours); from Seville, take the ground transfer to Suryalila (see below).
NEAREST BUS STATION:
Villamartin: 20 minutes by car to Suryalila
GROUND TRANSFERS to SURYALILA — The cost of ground transfers to/from the airport or bus station are NOT included in your retreat fee, but we will help arrange ride-sharing with Suryalila’s transfer partner, Sierra Viva Viajes, on the start date of the retreat (Saturday, October 28) and the end date (Saturday, November 4). See the chart below for pick-up points, prices, and travel times to Suryalila Retreat Centre.
SUGGESTION —
TIMING YOUR TRAVEL INTO AND OUT OF SPAIN:
ARRIVAL: Consider arriving a day (or more) early — If your schedule allows, we highly recommend you arrive in Spain at least one day before the retreat starts to allow for unexpected travel delays, recovery from jet lag, and extra touring time on your own.
DEPARTURE: Consider staying an extra day (or more) — We suggest staying over Saturday night after the retreat in the city of your departure airport and flying out on Sunday (or later), so as to not feel rushed, and to ease your transition from “retreat” mode back into your everyday life.
TO BE DETERMINED — RIDE-SHARE PICK-UP TIMES AND COST-SHARING AMOUNTS:
Exact pick-up times will be determined once we receive all or most participant travel itineraries. We will do our best to group people to spread the cost per vehicle across several passengers.
There may be more than one departure time from a given location, depending on people’s travel schedules.
There may also be instances where an individual will need to pay the entire cost of a vehicle, if there are no other riders available to share within a reasonably close timeframe.
TIP: Be available earlier rather than later: Although we will do our best to avoid solo riders, you can increase your chances of a ride-share by being available to meet at a pick-up point earlier in the day rather than later on Saturday, Oct 28 (even if you have to wait for others to arrive).
Sharing and coordinating itineraries: As people register for the retreat and begin to book flights, we will do our best to share information and provide guidance to help people plan their travel to best take advantage of ride-sharing opportunities, if desired.

SCHEDULE FOR RETREAT END DATE -- Saturday, Nov 4, 2023:
Early morning practice
9:30 AM — Breakfast
11:00 AM — Room checkout time
