“There’s just nothing like this week. I come back every year because I know exactly what I’ll get: rest, connection, sunshine, and a deep breath I didn’t know I needed.... This is a very special retreat — because you really care about people.”
“Linda has a great teaching presence and ability to share her extensive knowledge and experience of yoga with students on a variety of levels, from subtle body level to gross body therapeutics. She offers options for each practice, so each student can adjust to their own level of energy/experience..”

An Invitation: Turn to Joy
Come as you are.
Leave a little lighter.
Return home more fully yourself.
Let’s turn toward lightness.
Toward ease, joy, and what feels true.
Through movement, reflection, conversation, play and community, we’ll meet ourselves with curiosity and compassion—and discover what becomes possible when we let go and let ourselves be.
More freedom.
More presence.
More choice.
Not just for the time we’re away, but for the lives we return to.
Loosening the Grip
As we let go and shed what no longer serves us, something powerful happens.
We wake up to the possibility that we are not defined by the messiness of being human.
We let go of the need to fix—ourselves or anyone else.
We stop trying to control everything.
We loosen our grip—not to lose ourselves, but to discover ourselves more fully.
We make space for all parts of ourselves—the easy and the challenging—and begin to recognize our wholeness.
We unfetter the mind and heart.
Courageously.
And welcome a spontaneous uprising of Joy!
Centering Joy
Before we became attached to who we think we’re supposed to be—to the roles, expectations and stories that shape us—there was already an innate sense of wholeness and spontaneous joy.
Joy isn’t something we have to earn or learn. It is a natural, soulful way of being.
Over time, joy becomes hidden beneath layers of conditioning—our attachments, fears, habits and endless striving. We begin to believe happiness lies somewhere outside ourselves: in achieving more, becoming better, or finally getting life “right.”
But what if that way of living is an illusion?
What if there is another possibility?
Rather than adding more, we practice undoing.
Rather than striving, we mellow.
Rather than searching for joy, we open to the joy that waits beneath the surface.
What if joy is our closest ally in living our purpose?
What a discovery this would be!
Throughout the week, we’ll create space for this remembering to unfold naturally.
Our Intention
When we retreat, our intention isn’t to escape life.
It is instead to return to life differently—with more ease, trust, choice and courage to live from our authentic nature.
We’re not on retreat to become someone else.
We’re there to become less encumbered by everything that tells us we’re not already enough.
We’re there to …
Soften.
Trust.
Choose.
Remember.
To turn to the joy, authenticity and wholeness that have always been there.
Our intention is to close the gap between retreat life and everyday life—to carry these practices, conversations and experiences into the lives we return to, so they can become part of how we live long after this week has ended.

SETTING: TRONCONES BEACH and LAS VILLAS
LAS VILLAS: Las Villas on Troncones Beach is a chill, gorgeous oceanfront retreat 30 minutes north of Zihuatanejo on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. Each villa has multiple bedrooms with private or shared baths, a shared kitchen and breezy common space to hang out.
Kick back by the saltwater infinity pool, catch breathtaking sunsets over the ocean, wake early and take in the sunrise over the Sierra Madre mountains, or just wander the beach—it’s all right outside your door.
MEALS: Fresh, locally sourced brunch and dinner are provided daily, mostly on site at the Villas, with both vegetarian and fish or meat options. Meals feature authentic Mexican cuisine prepared by Las Villas’ gourmet cooks, who will do their best to meet special dietary needs. We also plan to have two group dinners at local restaurants with outdoor seating (included in retreat fee).
ACTIVITIES: In addition to our daily wellness practices, there’s lot more to do, including:
Walking, running and exploring the 3+mile stretch of golden Troncones beach
Kayaking, hiking and horseback riding
Boogie-boarding and swimming in the warm Pacific waters
Cooking lesson at Restaurante La Mexicana
Massage and spa services at
Surf and stand-up paddleboard lessons
Local sea turtle sanctuary — watch the release of baby turtles into the ocean
THE TOWN: Just a short walk down the beach from Las Villas is Troncones, a small community with a few tiendas, beachfront restaurants, small hotels, B&Bs, cafes, and surf shops (some of the best surfing in Mexico is in this area). A few of our favorite spots are:
Lorenzo’s “Cocos Frios” stand just across the bridge on the way into town — don’t miss your chance to sit a spell and enjoy a nice, cool drink from a freshly cut coconut!
The open-air market on Thursday morning at Tres Mujeres Boutique Hotel, where local artisans and food vendors offer their wares (just a few doors down from Las Villas).
Cafe Pacifico, creating some of the best coffee drinks and smoothies in town. They are also a full-service restaurant offering delectable breakfast, lunch and dinner items.

AIRFARE/AIRLINE RECOMMENDATIONS:
Consider purchasing a refundable fare for maximum flexibility.
United Airlines and American Airlines have the best itineraries, at least for trips originating in Pittsburgh. For travel originating in other cities, check United, American, Delta, and Alaska Airlines (good from the West Coast).
American Airlines — If traveling from Pittsburgh (PIT), be aware of possibly very short connection times for connecting flights.
United Airlines — From Pittsburgh (PIT), the United itinerary to ZIH is very good on Saturdays.
Connecting flights — Most, if not all, Delta itineraries connect through Mexico City, while United and American connect in U.S. airports and from there fly directly to Zihuatanejo.
Alternate Airports for Departure: At times, we’ve found lower fares and shorter itineraries into ZIH (including some direct flights) from locations other than our home airport of Pittsburgh International (PIT). Airports to consider include: Atlanta (ATL), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Cleveland (CLE), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) and San Francisco (SAN).
